Slingshot wanted to show the benefits of their software by showing a collision in space. What better way to do that than fully CG? It costs a lot less than sending a film crew up and capturing the real thing.

Conceived as a single shot, with a rewind moment, this spot brought a set of technical challenges. The aim was to make it feel like two separate “before the technology, and after” but in one fluid camera move. Not to mention zero gravity, art directable ridged body collisions, and an energy field…

Created in Cinema 4D using Redshift. Particles and Crash in Houdini.
